Union tool was a sub brand of Kelly's read that online you've got a good one my late great uncle was a big dog there not sure what he did but my cousins may have something interesting ill check.my little camp axe is a old union tool company and was made in charleston
I made a better sheath for mine.
Here's an early true temper kelly perfect well used I've got a new hickory handle for it someone must have walked off with my new looking kelly i looked everywhere .View attachment 48942
I've tried some of the newer design axes and im no expert but the old half wore out single and double bit axe heads just cut better maybe it's just what i always used what do you guys think.
Me too I'm a fair hand at sharpening everyone brings me their hunting and pocket knives saws and axes but my late neighbor boone could pick a rock out of the creek and get a kelly axe wicked sharp they would dress deers out with it lolThey make nothing like they used to. All of my axes (that I count) are vintage, my mauls are new- but hand forged.
