Very Nice AJ. I like the shape of the axes.

So what’s the next story on my Collins you mentioned last night?

Ok I lied, here’s the pics...lol! I file tested the edge while I was getting these pics, it is extremely hard. This one is gonna be tough to sharpen, but in the end it will hold the edge longer.

Whew! Awesome handles. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji108]
Wow thanks for all the info AJ! Very interesting to see the difference between the coveted Norlund and my Collins. I’m very surprised there’s such a difference in the steel as you mentioned. I was excited to get a Collins HB, being that Collins is the oldest axe manufacturer in the US I was happy to grab it. It may not be turn of the century but it is still a great ax in my opinion. Thanks again for sharing all the info bud.How can you not like that axe the style is awesome you can stick it down behind your belt and off you go
That looks like a real nice splitting head.View attachment 127597 View attachment 127598 View attachment 127599 View attachment 127600
I see we are on a Hudson Bay kick lately..... my contribution is my Wetterlings HB - who doesn't like thick cheeks ?!! lol

it is indeed and razor sharp. I would say it's the perfect camp type tool especially for splitting chores, with obvious limitations in splitting due to it's size, mainly the short handle, for small to medium work it excels. That looks like a real nice splitting head.

That’s such a nice looking ax. One of these days I’ll buy a GB or Hults ax, almost pulled the trigger on one until I spotted my Collins.View attachment 127597 View attachment 127598 View attachment 127599 View attachment 127600
