Them ears are typical of a Jersey pattern axe.Looks Sweedish to me with the ears.
Picked up a Plumb hewing hatchet and an Phila Tool carpenters hatchet today. Pretty disappointed that these were all I could find while out antique shopping with my wife today. Found a Kelley single bit but some jackass ruined it with a grinder, half the logo was gone and there were stray grinder marks all over the place on it.

I didn’t know hewing hatchets existed. All I’ve ever seen are full sized broad axes, so I’m pretty satisfied to have found it. Maybe I’ll hew out some 2x4’s lolIt always the way you go out looking and don’t find
