You shipping them with the handles?
How does that reflect on shipping cost?

So far I only shipped small packages.

Yes I can ship up too 1.2m or 4ft long without any extra charges
It helps when Iam shipping out long bars too customers

I found "dad" in the local hardware store yesterday.
He's a foreigner originating from Slovakia

I wanted to purchase one knowing that I'd be splitting large oak rounds today, but I couldn't get past the poor finish of the heads.

Hint:
The one with the longer 40" handle is mine!

I knew you’d find him but yours still comes out best he’s a bit more like a meat cleaver but still wouldn’t pass him up though
Do You want one? ;)

They all have bent/crooked blades, some less, some extreme.

The sides of the heads have a poor finish, very uneven.
The blades grind is not to my liking.
I don't know how good the material/steel is.

Nice Wilheim. [emoji108]
Just a quick question. Maybe it is a European thing. Most all the wood rounds I see cut from Europe all seem very short. 8 - 10 inches or so. I cut all mine at 16 inches for ease and neatness of stacking. But I can take up to 20 inches on the stove I have. Obviously the longer the round, the harder it is to split.
Is your stove small? Just curious is all.

I buck my rounds to 12-14" (30-35cm), it may look deceivingly shorter on my pictures.
For comparison, my ax handle is 40" long.

My current stove can take up to 15" length, but the burn chamber is rather small and as such longer wood pieces are not easy to insert if there are still coaled remains of the previous piece of wood in the chamber.
My fireplace can comfortably and safely take about 16" length , but also odd shaped knotty larger pieces.
To keep things simple I don't cut to two different lengths.
I leave knotty stuff and odd length log ends for the fireplace.
My fireplace can technically take about 20-22" long wood pieces, but they'd lean against the side wall one sided - not safe when You open the doors and the coaled wood starts crumbling and falling on the living room floor.

My uncle always asks me to cut his firewood to exactly 10" (25cm) length, now that's just ridiculously short even to me.

Can’t speak for Wilhelm But over here Jeff 8”-10” is the norm smaller stoves are very common I supply a firewood merchant with several cords of split logs in the summer , I can’t be dealing with retail sales and customers anymore
And he will only take firewood up too 10” his ideal log size is 9”
So it’s a lot more cutting and splitting but keeps you fit

I like this one very tempted
Shall I pick it up and give a try/compare to mine?
There was one left last Friday.

A coworker of mine does firewood cutting as a side job, he says 20/25/33cm is the norm, most opt for 25cm/10" though.
Rare cases ask for 20" long - he likes those the most, one price any length.

Thank Wilheim and AJ. Interesting. I think the standard for USA is 16 inches. Lol
Yeah, You guys need to have everything "bigger"!
