Funky looking.Been working this ole hybrid axe on some straight grained 8” ash goes it saves some time splitting , iam glad I made this axe now at the time wasn’t sure how it would work

Interesting idea!Yes it’s originally a Helko works 6lb axe basic range it didn’t feel very nice
I had a elwell no5 that was split and pitted to hell so I cut the head in half shaped them up and welded them to the HW then ground the welds down
and now it weighs 10lbs
I'll get You some pictures with a ruler for scale.LOL. I have them saved. Just in case I run across a blacksmith. I'll have one made up.![]()
