Not to de-rail (too far!), but then there are the famous bowling ball vises, popular with wood carvers . . . .

Not quite as compact, or slick, as Tree Monkey's!

There you go! I could hang my 2500 Suburban on that !
Might need a little more to port the hydraulics on my Dump Truck... now all I have to do is find my kids bowling balls...
EDIT: After serious consideration and cyphering, I have come to the conclusion that patience is a virtue and would be in my best interest to stand in line at Monkeys are Us and let Scott deliver on a quality piece of the puzzle that I can't live without(don't even work on saws but do like cool tools) I already have 2hrs. last night into trying to find, build or cobble together something similar due to lack of the aforementioned patience.... sorry for derail, back to your regularly scheduled programming

I assume this is what he has.

Half of that wouldn't be a bad place to start. The base looks like a Wilton 301 Pow R Arm,but I see no value in hanging that big bench vise on it. Get rid of it and build a fixture for whatever you want to hang on it (Dolmars :-) )And that is functional but not as efficient as Scott's...

Possibly, see eBay seller dssjms chainsaw conservation components/ chainsaw holding vise speciality tool,
But it depends on what it's made of and? and? T he main problem I can see would be the limitation of only 1axis to rotate on work would seldom be in a useful position...
