I don't know where in the world Dan Henry went or if he's still among the living .I used to talk with him on the phone 2-4 times a year but that's been some time ago ."Rotax "Roberts is about the same we used to use E-mail but he disappeared .He told me exactly what to expect when Ford hired Alan Mullaly who ran Boeing for a period of time .That's all I have to say about that guy .

FWIW I think it's been a tad over 7 years ago at the last GTG I went to at Jim Rigdon's modified Mark and the whole gang showed up .I forgot his side kicks name was but he had huge Skil chainsaw that was around 137-140 CC's .It had more grunt than an 090 Stihl .Come to find out later Jim worked at the same place I did but with over 2,000 people at the time it's hard to know them all .
Funny part was for some reason many people brought non running stuff just to give to me and I went home with a half a truck load of weed wackers blowers etc .It took a couple of years but last year during the lock down I got everyone of them running .It filled my already crowded shed to over flowing .

That was Chris Bean (cbfarmall on AS). I went up to his place for a GTG sometime around 2014. Mark Myers and Mike Sullivan were there as well.

You must be talking about ohiogregg. He is (i hope still is and not was) a very good guy.He along Mark(modifiedmark),Mike(Mark's brother) and Tim(fossil,i see he is still arount) helped me a bunch back in 2012 when i was searching parts for my Poulan 306A.I was just a random guy from the other end of the world and they sent me parts, rare parts(an ignition module for the 306A was running on ebay or chainsawr for 100$ and Gregg sent it to me just for the shipping).
Mark was super busy at that time,i was in hunt for the intake block plus some covers.Sent him a pm,asked him what i wanted and then, after a couple of days got a pm from Mark was saying:your parts are on the way,the shipping is 15$.If you want send me those,if you don't thats fine.If you need something else just let me know.I still can't believe what guys i've met over AS back then, huge caracter quality.I hope all of them doing well.

That's awesome.
I recall Modified Mark gave me some good tips on my first saw, a Poulan 5020 AV. He also had a thread devoted to a Poulan 5020 mod or rebuild...it spanned many, many pages!
Full of useful info though.

Dan Henry used to call me up looking for things or selling some things .Once was a couple of rolls of giant chain for either a gear reduction chainsaw or pond and deck chain .Another was a BP-1 Mac with a bad carb .
Once was looking to a start switch for a 10 HP single phase electric motor for an air compressor .On that I told him every place I could think of but also told him about using a timer with a relay as a start switch .Ole Dan had 3 or 4 buildings full of stuff he amassed over the years . Evidently another junk yard dawg like myself .

I think Dan got behind on doing some work for folks on AS and then folks had a hard time reaching him. I have not seen anything out of him for at least 5 years. I think I still have a Poulan 655 I got from him in a box.

Between Mark and Chris they had some very diverse collections of rather hard to find saws . At one time Poulan for example had some large displacement saws really stout built Clydesdales of saws . People now of days only think of the less expense models sold under the Craftsman name but it wasn't always the case .Fact at one time "Rotax Roberts " ran some model of Poulan on the circuit on the left coast and did well with it .

Another name comes to mind, Joyce the "Chainsaw lady " .From what I gather she and her husband sold Homelite brand for many years .She knew the history of that company very well .For a period of time she sold a bunch of NOS parts that might have gone back 40 plus years .I bought a few things including a file guide for 1/4" files used on 1/2" gear drive chains which is something you don't see every day .She lived some place in Indiana I think .

I bought an OEM red/black Homelite 12” bar from her about four/five years ago. She knew Homelite bars, saws, specs like the back of her hand.
