I have a decent fan but it's still hot.
In the timber here the deer flies try to kill ya. Bent over falling a tree with one biting you in the middle of the back is a party, freind of mine pays a man to keep his saw full of fluids and to keep the horse flies beat off him.

I'm in the process of building a new shop that's air conditioned but it won't be done till winter
Feel better now. I might be outside this winter.
The paid fly beater gas jockey is money well spent! Teach him some sharpening skills soon.

I built a house for a friend on Neebish Island in the Yoop about 15 years ago. A buddy of mine got hit by a horse fly while he was laying a cinder block. He didn't wanna let go of the block and have it too low, so he fought it out. After, he swatted a 1-1/2" horse fly off his arm and it actually left a hole where it was drilling. Deer flies are annoying, but them damn horse flies hurt

To have a good helper in the woods to pull chokers and keep your saw ready is invaluable.

Nobody can file a fallers saw but him no matter how good the other guy is.

A few weeks ago the horse flies would put you in the truck. When your hot and mad anyway a horse fly biting on you almost constantly will test a man's nerve, lots of times your helper will get the ass eating that the horse fly should get. Lol

After I kill one I like to talk *s-word to it,makes me feel better

I work for a site contractor and do all of our falling. I like to file my own chain. The boss/ owner of the company says it's downtime and a waste of time. He takes his to the hardware store [emoji107]. What a joke

I could file a chain for a lot of people and charge for porting there saw and they would happily pay.

When they get a new chain it's as sharp as it will ever be,member and most of the guys I know and have worked with will work on a new chain before ever using it,once you learn how to get one sharp the new chain is pitiful.

I sharpen all my chains before they ever make it on my saws, I'm no expert but they cut better after I'm done than just out of the box or off the roll

It'll be hard to find a stock 2100 that will come close to running with a 395xp with any bar.

2101 with no limiter is a different story.

The 2100 and 2101 are pretty much the same saw minus the spring front AV mount and the extra 1 in the model number. Non limited carbs where an option before the 2101, or the governor can be defeated with little effort.

If you dig into it you'll notice they changed piston designs along the way. I'm also assuming the ports slightly changed. The carb is an easy defeat but it would be considered modified if I'm correct.

@SawTroll imo would be the go to guy to ask for specifics on these models.

I know of 3 different piston designs but as far as I know the 2101 came with the standard small window piston unless you got lucky and got the very rare large window KS piston. The thin ring piston was in some 2100's and the 298 but was not in the 2101 due to lower life expectancy. As far as I know and what I've seen, the cylinder porting never changed.

Lets face it, around here a saw is considered stock until it looses some weight from the cylinder. Modified mufflers and carbs are still considered a "stock saw" to most.

I have never ran a 2100 but i have ran a few very strong 395's,these 064 and 066's will beat my 395 in certain situations and will loose in others.

A 395 can't live at the rpm these 064's live at,the piston and rotating assembly is to big and heavy.
I've got a 660 big bore with a 395 piston and a lot of work in it and can beat it with a 85cc saw, the piston is just to big

It's your argument man, I'm just adding my input since I've ran both models.
If my comment was in contradiction to the one you left a few pages ago then I would have replied to your comment.

In most races, the only limiting factors are cc, fuel type, and whether they have a muffler or pipe.
None have ever said anything about a carb.
Heck, in the loggers classes, they just gotta have an air filter and muffler common to the model.

I have a friend with a 660 running a big bore kit.
He loves it and has asked me to do some porting on it.
We are fixing to run it against the 064 I am building now and my stock 066 to see what does what
