Just got done putting this one together. Early 064. Used a Mahle cylinder with a meteor piston. Gasket delete, cleanup/widened intake and exhaust ports. Didnt touch the transfers. Saw has a Bing carb and HD2 filter and dual pipe muffler mod. Threw on a 460 poly flywheel and matching coil. I haven't had a chance to put much time on her yet but it sounds badass and spools up way faster than a big saw should :headbang:

Building a 395 to help a mate out at present. Gutted muffler, intake and exhaust widened. May delete base gasket, haven't checked squish yet.

Otherwise still planning dolmar 166 overbore project. Have acquired a 395 big bore 58mm piston from hyway. Quite happy with the quality, but have a few things to way up if I use this or have a custom piston made.

Smaller gudgeon pin than the stock, so probably bush the crank and use roller bearing from 395.

No rings other than hyway or other am units that will fit. So probably machine out piston to take a 075 rings and relocate pins to stock dolmar position.

Finally piston window is way smaller than the 166 pistons..

Why not go to 60mm where there's a ton of piston options?

Because it is a milling saw, and I am abit worried about having enough meat in the jug to disapate enough heat. 2nd increased reduction in volume of transfers.. :/

Victa 160cc power stroke mower to hot saw conversion.....:)

Still a long way to go yet but, i think you'll agree it has potential and uniquness in spades!

62mm piston x 54mm stroke.
Only potential problem is cast iron cylinder. Will need to let her warm up real well before peging the throttle.

That could be a slight problem. Lee has one bored to 60mm.
