On most saws about .020 off the key gives about 6 degrees more advance. Some guys like to take off more, but I prefer to stay conservative and I'm happy with the results on the ones I have done.
The 661 above is a tree service saw and has 020 off the key,if it was a firewood/work/weekend warrior saw it would be 040 off the key.

Yep.
It was timed perfect just needed some more intake so there's only one way I know to do exactly that.

105 120 78 stock
050 from the base and a 040 popup and I got 105 120 82 and I only widened.

I've never done one like this but it seems like the thing to do but I'll found out in a little bit.
It's timed the same as the Christmas saw only it wasn't a popup.

Grinding looks great, as usual.

.
I finally got around to running the 361 it's got a different hd17 and a am 066 boot.
I don't like the carb,it's 2 out on both so how it ever ran a 460 I don't know.
was that carb plug and play or did you have to make modifications to the air box?
