This has been quite frustrating for me. As your aware the c model has a 22 tooth adjustment screws in it vs the 21. I can not for the life of me find that driver ANYWHERE. like others have stated..... Ok so I moved on to removing the screws and doing some light grinding to reshape it to fit different driver. 1st go bent the low screw when pulling it out.... Then the 2nd freaking brand new OEM over $100 bull sheet.... Yet again low screw but this time the internal threads kind of "grinded" it's self up..... The culprit on both carbs..... The plastic insert that seals the Damned thing... As I go to remove them the plastic won't let go of the freaking screw. This second carburetor I was very gentle with. I even tried adding a little bit of oil to it to help me remove that sonuvabeach..... 🫩

Yep until it didn't want to come out completely. Before even attempting on this second carburetor I saw you had said something about it. It wouldn't come out of the plastic thing
Any pics of it? I thought they were just stand alone splined jets

Is the screw cross drilled with a plastic insert pressed into the hole?
The Walbro carb on the Echo pb-500 blowers had those type of screws.
Walbro didn't do any de-burring of the screws and they tore a lot of the threads out of the carb body when I was trying to remove them.
I had a post about them, over on arborist site. a few years ago.

Yes! The plastic piece kinda resembles a infinity sign or #8. I've come across this on multiple carbs my hd 16 and 14 both have them. something walbro did Instead of the mixture screws having springs for sealing surfaces.

The trouble with getting the screws out was with the burrs digging into the carb body.
I expect that the burrs get folded back when the screw is run in upon assembly.
Thus making them a royal problem to try backing out, as they just dig into the hole and mess up the threads.

I tried to look over on arborist site for the thread where the pb-500 carb was being discussed. Was hoping to find the part numbers for the replacement screws that I found.
Seems AS has deactivated my account over there so trying to search the site didn't really work for me.
google didn't take me to anything with the numbers listed in it.

Looks to be that one. it's got the air valve built into the top "cover" of the carburetor.
They were priced at $150 or more, back when I was fooling with that blower.
Every bit of my OPE stuff is sort of crammed in at another location now.
