As much as I like the Ruger action (being an owner of a mini-14) I'm a fan of under the barrel loading 22's. I have a Winchester and a Marlin that have never jammed, not even once during break in.
Always wanted the ranch rifle. I would like to shoot that sometime.

The new updated 10/22s look great and are very ergonomic I'm going to buy one.
A very good trigger can be had just deburring and polishing the factory trigger group power custom makes a nice kit for them.

Some nice guns in this thread guys.
I bought my first 10/22 for $39, on sale at Woolworths, in 1974. It's long gone, as are several others. I've got a couple at the moment, but nothing special. Every time I put a nice one together, one of my kids ends up with it.
Right around the same timeframe ('75/'76) my Dad bought me my first 10/22...think it was $59.99 from a local Handyman Hardware store in town.

...and still have it to this day. Has had tens of thousands of rounds through it. Still in stock form, only added a scope many years ago, lots of Condor 25 rd magazines...and looks like it just came off the shelf. 10/22 is on the far left in this cabinet...

I didn't build this but dad passed it on to me when I was 18. Just did a trigger job and looking forward to throwing lead with it real soon.

Kind of a redneck build but great for tree rats and lots of fun, one of my favorite SBRs.

Started off as a limited run realtree camo carbine, barrel cut down to 6" and cut the stock with a miter saw for the can to sit in.

Kidd bolt, bolt buffer and charging handle with guide rod/spring kit.

The trigger group was sent to Brimstone Gunsmithing for their Tier 2 trigger job, awesome 2lb trigger for the money!

The Kidd and Brimstone parts got this rig running 100% with every ammo I have tried.

The Kidd bolt made a hugh difference in my rifle. It wouldn't run anything very well. Now it's a cherry.
