New member with a question. I'm working on a Honda EU2000i generator and was trying to think of a way to test a new fuel pump before installing it.
I need a pulse source to power the pump.

I was wondering if the fuel pump would function with a slow pulse. I see it would looking at the photo.
Being a new member, I'll offer a bit of introduction.
I'm a retired boilermaker who a few years ago decided to get off the couch and do something. I've always done my own mechanic work on dirt bikes, trucks, and anything else I thought I could fix.
A friend had four chainsaws that needed repairs so I went through them and was successful getting them going again.
Word got out and soon powered equipment was coming from near and far.
With the help of YouTube, I've had good luck with the repairs.
I realized there might be a forum I could join and have a source other then YouTube when I need help. The help is much appreciated.

If you have a pressure tester, make sure that the pulse fitting holds vacuum or pressure. Also the outlet should hold pressure and the inlet should hold vacuum. That will show that the diaphragm and at least one check valve is good. If that is an OEM Mikuni pump they are very good.

This is my first time to work on a Honda generator. I've had an occasional bad part doing repairs, so I ordered the OEM pump. I didn't want to re-assemble the generator and find out the pump was bad. Good to hear they are good quality.
