Ok guys after reading most of the build threads I think I am ready to do this. Where is the best place to purchase? HL doesn't seem to have them anymore. ArborTech/FarmerTech has them and of course Hutzl. Is there any difference in the kits based on where purchased? Besides the CIR clips and the crank bearing is there any other must have OEM parts. I know a few had problems with chain adjuster and fuel line. Cylinder issues also have me concerned. Most of the build threads were ported and such. How are they running straight out of the box. I am considering deleting the base gasket and smoothing out the transfer areas but that would be about it. Thanks for your help.

All I did was put some caber rings in mine and go over all the chamfering on the cylinder. been going great so far. Not much run time but about 8-10 tanks through it without an issue.

OEM worm gear

If I remember correctly I read your build entirely, unfortunately your build is one of them that has me nervous with some of the issues you had. This will just be a toy for me to play with, but still don't want to have a $250-300 cream colored egg-roll.

I haven't had any luck with AM worm gears. Yes my 2 farmertec cylinders turned out to be junk but the cross is running great.

This is my first real post here. I read a lot. Just to put your mind to ease I bought one of these 066 in March or so. I had no prior knowledge of the inside of a chainsaw. I watched some youtube videos and had mine running in a little over 5 hours. It has cut over 6 cords of wood for me so far. Only problem i have had is the head bolts worked loose after the first tank or so and the gas tank leaks. I have a new tank but will fiddle with it this winter. Dang thing runs strong and pulls the huztl 25" bar/chain nicely. Hope this helps in your decision.

I had to get my 028wb out the other day because I felt bad I had not used her in awhile.

I would also recommend going with the Cross P&C, which comes with Caber rings.

My fuel tank leaks a bit (4th cap), so I store it with the cap up, and I used an OEM chain adjuster (from a junk saw).

Also, my decomp kept loosing the plastic, so I put a dab of Locktite PL Premium on it, just to ensure it can't fall into the piston.

I also used OEM clips, but the Huztl piston bearing has been doing just fine for me, and I've done some milling with the saw.

Hope Bruce ordered lots of them, I think they will go fast!

Ordered mine, now to decide if I want to invest in the cross cylinder. Probably wait to see how this one looks.

For fifty bucks, and it comes with Caber rings, I would not hesitate.
