Best answer material right there.
Bingo, my 55 is a 95 purchased new in 1996, it has had countless tanks of fuel through it with the operator being pretty chainsaw illiterate. To date it has had 1 new air filter, 2 new fuel filters, 2 carb kits and a new fuel line.

I drilled Two holes in the front of the original deflector, and filed the piece out that joined the two, that left me with a vertical 15mm
slot that was 5mm wide, also dumped the pipe, that at-least double
the output size of the deflector, and you would not notice any modification
took place if you had to take the saw in for warranty, just put back in the
pipe, the slot I made was so neat nothing left for forensics to discover, it looked
original.
They are definitely a good saw, but my Jonsered 2153 was a better saw in every way.

Outer clutch never bothered me. I’ve often wondered why so many people hate them
Inner or outer they both work, if people can't use one over the other
I question whether they have the aptitute to run a saw.
May be on a mill where access to adjuster is restricted, but for general cutting
I would use either and be happy, and then there is the odd time you get a bar
stuck and can not remove the saw head with an outboard clutch, but I would not
dream of going out with one saw.
