Went with a dark grey/blue/green color (Behr Coastal Storm) in a Satin sheen. I’m happy with it.

Still need to finish cutting in, and then I’m doing a clear polyurethane on the wood shingles.

Yeah, me too on the hip roof. The improvement is vast in my estimation. The whole package looks great!

Finished the ceiling of the porch with the burnt cedar boards that came from inside the house. Here’s what I started with...

Been a while, so here’s a little update on my progress.

I am 100% roughed in on my electrical, and although I’m definitely not a plumber, I finally got all the drains roughed in with ABS. What a pain in the azs. Buddy who is a plumber helped me with the code stuff, but I literally cut, fit, glued, and secured every piece myself.

I will get it inspected next week, and then I can start on insulation.

Plugged the sewer with a balloon and filled with water... found two leaks! One was not enough glue, the other I forgot to glue altogether... all good now.

Passed my framing inspection and electrical rough-in... got the green light to insulate.

For sure, but it’s all good now.

That’s why we have to do the test before we can pass the plumbing rough-in.

not sure why you don’t do an air test. Much faster and cheaper but it’s California

Not sure either but you sure do find the leaks quickly.

My neighbor helped me get my mini split hooked up and turned on today.

36,000 btu on this one, and I’m doing a 9,000 btu in the master bedroom. All said and done I will have about $3300 into both units... Local HVAC guy quoted me $12k!!! It works great.
