Remember when hotrod meant a Chevelle or Camaro or Mustang or GTO? To me nothing replaces cubic inches and the big Holley parked on top of a high rise manifold. Not into computer chips and cars that sound like kazoos. Even if they are fast. I'm really starting to sound like my dad now.
...had a 69' orange and white striped Camaro, 396, Muncie 4-spd, Holley 750, Cragar Super Sports, Lakewood traction bars, etc, etc. A damn fine Camaro...and traded the thing for a friggin' corvette. Worst car mistake I ever made!

Damn Charlie, you were rich!

Don't think so, took many years of milking cows and selling cream, butter and hogs to get that much money. The old man said if you want it, you need more cream, eggs and butter. Also picked corn for the the neighbors for about $7.00 per acre with the old corn picker and my old wd 45 Allis Chalmers tractor. Also bought me a 1964 ford Galaxy 500, 1967 firebird, 1968 firebird, Had 250 laying hens, 6 sows and 5 milk cows. All before I was 14 years old. Don't see that much anymore. All this was done before and after school. In which me and my brother had to walk over one mile to met the bus everyday.

I admire the first choice and the 396 in that ride must have snapped the neck of a few riders. (I remember the intrigue with the Corvette in the day -- after driving quite a few I never wanted to own one).

Remember when a Sundrop, a Moon pie and a handful of green "grass hoppers" (hard candy) was about all I needed when I stopped at the corner store.

I remember when I took my 1897 Winchester pump shotgun to the school shop to refinish the stock. And did a damn good job of it!! Don't think that is going to happen any more either. apx. 1972

Rember when marksmanship and gun safety were part of pe class in school.

Rember thinking it was a waste of time because you spent most of your free time in the woods looking for dinner and your dad wood beat the tar out of you if you disrespected his guns in anyway
