I've never seen an AH 80 .However the AH 47 and AH 58 had a rotating plate the points and coil set on which might have gotten moved .It's supposed to fire at a certain measurement from TDC which equates to around 26 degree or so advanced.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to take the ignition cover off anyways to paint it. I'll check it out then.

Compression on the old PP engines run 80-100 for normal.

I had one Lombard 34(?) that pumped 70.

Ran like a champ.[emoji106]

Just tested it. 60lbs cold.

Re adjusted the ignition timing. More fresh gas. I thing some more carb tuning is due but, it at least it idling better. I didn't realize it operated with a pressurized gas tank. The gas cap is not the correct one and leaks. It tried sealing it up with a Home Depot bag and a rag. And now it runs better.

If it's bad rings you could probably find a generic size to fit it. You might be surprised about piston rings because you can find just about any ring to fit any engine if you look hard enough .
On the other hand because the engine has sat for a while the rings might be a little stuck and with some run time they might free up .
