This is the 3 rd one I've done but the other 2 weren't the av models. Got all the parts ordered and found the rubber mounts on fleabay. piston and rings are toast but the cylinder isn't too bad nothing a little sandpaper won't fix. surprisingly the inside was pretty clean and the bearings are like new. Will post up some pics after the parts come in.

This is the first one I've seen with the weird rubber piece on the intake flange.

The second one there I did a little port work to it but it was slower cause I didn't drop squish went back in since then don't have any video yet but had to cut .010 out of band and took .020 off base and it made a huge difference.

That intake is different than the later 041 I dont know if later 041 juggs will fit you may have to change all intake components
Later 041 use a gasket on cylto intake block not rubber

Don't plan on changing the jug and pretty sure I found a new piece of rubber on eBay. The other 2 I rebuilt were set up completely different they are both 041 fb where this one is 041 av

Well sanded down the cylinder , cleaned up the piston and put all new seals, gaskets, rebuilt carb, and replaced the rubber mounts yesterday. saw cranked right up and runs good.

Just one more thing it doesn't seem to use the same air filter as the other two 041 fb I have. Does anybody have a link to the correct filter? here is a pic.

This one seems to need a flat filter without the tabs in the corners more like my homelite 923. where as the other 2 use the plastic filter that's elevated in the middle and have 2 plastic tabs towards the front that fit into holes on the filter mount. This saws filter mount has no holes it's flat all the way around it could possibly be an 040 as stated before not sure, but it is a 44mm piston though like 041 the air filter cover/lid does say 041AV tho

I'm not an expert by any means. That's a first gen saw. That air filter plate is the old style.
