Do we have a dedicated COVID-19 thread?

I am not trying to cause panic, I was just wondering.

I think its probably a good idea. We just have to keep politics out of it.

Yes....in America even a health care crisis can become political.

If it is deemed inappropriate simply delete it.
No idea whether I placed it correctly, Off Topic seemed like a good spot - move it if it is not.

Does anyone besides me have issues with OPEForum pages hanging while loading?

For me every other page loads half way, up to 3/4 or 4/5 (estimated by the progress bar) and then just stops.
A refresh/reload usually does the trick, sometimes it takes more than one refresh.

I am on a 20 mega bit broadband wireless connection and can achieve up 2 megabyte per second download speeds.

It is not a big deal, I was just wondering if it is something on my side or the other end of the wire.

The site has been running funny for me too, it's not just you.

Other web pages load fine.
OPEForum takes off then gets stuck just shy of fully loading.

I'm on a crappy service (AT&T) so any site that's image heavy tends to bog down.
Craigslist has just been a real pain to look through, the last few days.
Kinda why I sometimes b-word about people with phones not cropping the dead areas off of their images or else taking 3~4 images of a saw bar instead of just turning the phone sideways and getting the whole bar or saw in one frame.
Lot of wasted bandwidth gets used looking at peoples shoes and shop walls.
Not to mention the phone usually focuses on the wall or your shoes when you don't turn it to match the subject that you're photographing.

Well, it came into existence, took off, derailed, crashed and burned to ashes.

Sorry!

It's not your fault mate. When people go into 'cognitive dissonance' it tends make many people's ego feel threatened. The result is the 'fight or flight' response.

Hell, we can sometimes get the same psychological response when discussing modding a saw.

When this whole COVID thing is over, and people return to 'normal' living, I wonder how many people will be better off financially, because they weren't out in restaurants and spending money they didn't have. All of the sudden, eating at home and not wasting money is becoming a virtue again.

Oh wait, it already was...
