Our wood stove sits up there. Gives it a little height and keeps the smaller children from being able to touch the stove.
So was it a chunk of wood in the picture, that's what I was thinking it was, but it seemed odd it would be right there. Knowing theres a wood stove there it makes sense.

Trying to make the best of a bad situation, trying to get them them ready for winter, there was some rot in the sill, so I tried some epoxy, it has a stainless steel pan under the door so it’s not death!! Lol it will probably get replace soon, so it will be a cool test42081A0C-6DAA-4E38-AF58-C19B26CAB16F.jpegepoxy 4D900244-48CF-4A9B-BD82-CAEBE3E69EA5.jpegThe hole in the corner is the return of the sill, it will get caulked clear and seal the trim, more epoxy and varnish to come! Lol

Yeah, it was a mossy chunk of wood.
Nice.
Pulled this stick out the woods, you can see where it had been sitting for over 10yrs(before we bought the place) next to the red oak stump. The wood is black locust, very rot resistant and hard, it will shoot sparks if you bore down into a piece that's sitting half sunk into the floor of the woods. I'll be using it for the legs on my shed when I raise it up.

If it was warming up from a freeze, some cars will warn up to around 36-38deg that there could still be ice on the road.

I've caught like 5 or so mice and one little mole in glue traps in the garage over the past 2 weeks. First big mouse problem in years.

It was steady temps and the truck was sitting there running.
It was also colder as I drove into the the front(down to 35) and it didn't show "ice".

Worked on my lean to. I knkw its not 100 percent but was done on the cheap side. Its all free lumber i recycled from a barn cleanout job i did. Only have about 20 bucks in screws and brackets. Tarp was an old used one i had. I might put a new on befor snow flys. Be much better then fighting tarps in snow.20191102_175221.jpg 20191103_100209.jpg
