Kind of early for that to be going bad eh?
Damn!
Now thinking back when we bought are van at the 2 year old make it was around $700 and that was in 16. This last year is was a little under 400 to tag it.
What do you mean never pay taxes again?
Ya, but you have to set up an address out of state and get your mail there to be legal, lots of people try to do that in Oregon,”live” here 6 months plus one day, to save on registration. And you can but then we have state tax, we don’t have sales tax, so that helps, but only if you live here
Yeah, you’ve gotta live out of the state at least 6 months of the year... my dad has a house in Montana. He bought a truck and licensed it there, and within a week of coming back to Ca, the Highway Patrol sent him a letter telling him he had 20 days to license it in Ca, or if he was caught driving it with Montana plates, it would be impounded.
We have 7.25% income tax, 1% property tax ($200,000 house = $2,000 tax per yr.).
State Income tax:

I work for myself, so I pay income tax, and a minimum of 15.4% self employment tax on any profit I make for the year in my business.
Fuel taxes are also the highest in the US.
Mine isn't as bad as Clint's, but is $375 a year. I'm just glad it's smog exempt.
We don’t pay sales tax on autos or anything, registration on a car is a flat rate was $86 for two years, $70 for motorcycles for two years, we have to have plates front and back on autos , accept for classics, I think they want the plates on front and back for traffic cams and cops to id, I think the cops cars have cameras that can read plates, and alert them to stolen autos or trouble cars. We have property tax and state income tax. It’s not crazy but adds up! I don’t like sales tax, or property tax, but the government has to get there money! Lol Washington doesn’t have property tax but have sales tax. A person is going to pay one way or another, a lot of laws don’t transfer from state to state, like helmet laws, registration and plate laws transfer state to state, but you have to still be a permanent resident of the registration state, if your working somewhere over 6 months, you need to get temporary work status or your a residentWe pay sales tax on vehicles and that’s all. A tag is about $70 a year for a car. No personal property taxes each year.
That's so they can get you coming and going...Gotta run front and rear plates in Ca. I’m not exactly sure why.
