Road kill on my village main road.
First one I've ever seen.
Actually didn't even realize we had any, lest that they are this big.

Didn't know about European Badgers.

Just did a read up on those. Seem pretty diverse for habitat requirements, and occupy most all of Europe and parts of Asia.

The relatives/species here just live in prairies.

Never heard anyone talk about them, lest seen any.

After asking a couple coworkers that have hunting licences I have been told to:
- never engage or corner a badger
- never allow my pup to engage a badger

They carry rabies, so that may be part of it. The only one I ever saw be aggressive tried to attack my car so I think their lengendary fearlessness is earned.
Really cool animals. I’ve only ever seen two three here in the US.

We see em every year doring the summer and fall. They are fearless if cornered. They are also very shy. They go into hiding as fast as possible when they see you.

They are strong little critters. They will dig a hole right in the middle of a gravel road.

No that they quit making pennies what I’m I supposed to do with these.
After the Yugoslavian Dinar got decommissioned my dad collected the non ferrous ones and drilled holes into them to serve as shims!

Also, get a boat and use them as boat anchors.
