So far it has cut 15min off my normal time of 2.5 hours. But i am still getting used to a zero turn. I bet in a few more mowings I could probably shave another 15 off easily.
What were you using before standard rider, deck sizes? I was wondering how much overhang the left side has, picture of that side please :).
Did you turf it up pretty bad yet, easy to do on a machine with new tires and fresh hydros .
At the inlaws they used a 50" John Deere rider and it took 5.75 hrs, on my 60 exmark Lazer z I could mow it in 2.75.
I did another larger one that took the homeowner 3hrs, I could do it in 1:15 and double cut it.
Here's the boy at the inlaws couple days ago. He was driving the mower around after we filled the tires just so it doesn't sit/ to keep the battery charged. Meanwhile I sprayed the apple trees with the Massey.

I was using a husqvarna garden tractor with a 54" deck. It mowed ok but the deck was too wide for the wheel track. It was always dipping an end and scalping. Looked like crap when i was done. Yep, i still have alot to learn on driving it. Found myself dragging the inner tire on sharp turns around trees and such. The cut is amazing! Looks like a pro other than the ruts from the above said novice operator!

It overhangs on the left side a good bit. Thats why i went with the 52" 48 was too small for the mower and a 60 is too big for my property. Cant get it through some trees and stuff.

Saw this the other day coming back from the inlaws in Ohio cruising North thru Lansing MI.
The picture makes the paint look wavy, it was flat and nicely done.

Oh yeah!!!

That baby probably hasn't seen a salted road in 15 plus years lol.

I think one of those bagged with a 4bt and a 6 speed would make a great highway cruiser.

Not as much as a 60, but better than a 48 for sure .
I prefer a 60 mainly because of the overhang, if you don't have anything you need the overhang for it's not a big difference in time savings on a smaller lawn. I may sell my 60" rider and get another 52 or 60 walk behind, as most of what I do I can get done quicker since they are more nimble and a lot kinder to lawns than a zero turn rider, my 60" is the biggest and heaviest 60" exmark made that yr, try getting on a wet lawn that is already soft with it, it can also be sketchy on his for turfing it up, but it's very stable so at least I'm safe :D.

You'll keep learning for a long time. I try to avoid going in a full circle around a tree or any other obstacle. When I'm approaching an obstacle I will go around the opposite side as what most would, this will make you turn about 2/3 of the way around it, then when I come back the opposite direction I go the other way around it which completes the circle around it. The exceptions to that are; when I don't want the chute facing the obstacle, I'm double cutting(cutting two different directions) so I will get a little on all four corners, or if it's in a highly visible area I want to look nicely striped.
I don't have many pictures of yards from the last couple yrs, but here's one I did last yr, I've done it a few times this yr, just not weekly.

Heres some during.
I can't believe I didn't kill any of the trees, I cut some huge roots off the Japanese Maple to get the landscape bricks that close to the drip line. I had warned the customer that it most likely would kill it!, but I watered it every day before I started working on that section and every day after for a week, and the homeowner kept watering it and it looks great still. I need to get some pictures from all the same angles of it finished, had to use a torch to kill all the grass that I seeded with in the stone, it should have died out but we had so much rain it just keep growing.

Yesterday evening, took them with my HTC One S set to auto adjust.

I haven't looked at the pictures on my PC to see how they came out, but those clouds and rays of light looked beautiful real life.

It was a nice ride, the picture looked pretty bad. Lots of work, maybe a project like that would be feasible once I get a building, but for now the old 5.7 slug will do me just fine, no rust still :b1:.
I'm still watching for a 2500, I have my eyes on one, but I don't plan on spending much cash right now. Been slow the last month and a half, but the yr started out great, gotta take it when it comes :).

I'm always on the look out for a 2500.

And how are you keeping the rust at bay?
