Man that is amazing. I design roofs often. That thing is beautiful. Would like to hear more about it if you know anything.

Yes they use bundles of water reed on top of the older base coat which is approx 10”-12” deep that sits on 1x2 batons the new top layer is usualy just over 6” deep
The 1st gets fixed down on the eaves then the next bundle gets laid down
Then you get a spar which is a 30” length of hazel 1.5” diameter split into four peices sharpened outboth ends Then twisted in the middle and these go down through the bundle too hold it in place and you carry on like that right up the roof and finishes on the ridge with both sides touching

Then the wheat straw ridge goes on top which takes all the weather and gets replaced once or twice in t(e lifetime of the main roof

Ram it through the hole where a stud sticks through..

Complaint on the was a rattle under car above 45mph. Air would catch the shield and make it bounce against the floorpan.

Visited a great customer today after work, has more work for us! We build this greenhouse and the far barn, and painted the original barn, along with building out the inside and put up a bunch of fence, it’s organic so no pt! Anywhere!!
