Who the F would spend that much on a half ton truck?!!

That's not even an expensive one.
They are fookin crazy now.
Half tons are more than 1 tons right now. You can get a GM 1 ton, all the bells, whistles and nut massagers with a diesel for $6K cheaper than some of the halfs.

Local contractor just bought a 2018 GMC 2500 Denali with the Duramax... they dropped the price $15k, from $72k to $57k. I might’ve went with a new GMC instead of this Superduty if I’d known they would sell that cheap!

1 ton is even cheaper than comparably equipped 3/4 ton.
I cannot say it for fact, but I was told that it is because they do very little advertising on the 1 ton models and pass that onto the final price, whereas the 1/2 and 3/4 tons they advertise the chit out of, and in turn get the end consumer to foot the bill.
That's what our sales manager has told me when I asked why they were less.

I’ll have to look at his and see if it’s a 2500 or 3500. Funny thing is he couldn’t find a Chevy dealer that would give him a decent price, but could get a GMC for way less.

I still don’t think I would want IFS on a work truck, or to have my DEF tank hanging 6” below the frame. But that’s just me.

What cylinder numbers? Are the ugliest plugs at the end of the injectior rails?
Might just be the picture but the gap looks huge!!

Compression numbers. 2 and 3 are the lowest and have the most deposits. Its engine time, worn rings.

A lot of people say that. My 06 2500HD has not led a gentle life from day 1. It spent 160,000 miles hauling 10-16K fertilizer spreaders to and from farms.
That's when I got it. It takes a pounding. Plows snow, hauls wood, junk, gets thrashed through the woods, field etc. I have gone over scales at the scrap yard with way more weight in than it should really have. 193K on it now, and the ball joints are finally showing some wear and will be replaced soon.
They did get greased every 3000 though.

I also see many construction and farm trucks that get pounded and I have only seen 1 def tank that took a hit, and the tank was ok, it broke the shield. Not to say that it cant happen, but that tank hangs no lower than any truck on the roads differential center section..
Just my observations.

2019 Silverado. 5 miles on it.
Check engine light on.
8 codes for 4 cylinders deactivation solenoids.

According to chart, I need to disconnect solenoid jumper harness and test circuits there.
Bbuuutt, I need to remove the intake manifold to get to said connector.
And to get the ECM to command the solenoids on, it requires the engine running.o_O

Plus, when I have it running, it boots me out of it, stating the ignition voltage is too high..

So, I winged it, ohmed all solenoids at the ECM connector, checked for short to B+, ground, etc.

Had to call the omnipotent General anyhow because the ECM is on restriction.
Guy at tech assistance laughed when I explained how their diagnostic chart works.
At least he gave me an authorization number to get a module..

I'd be asking for a new truck.

Never seen a 4.0 blow numbers that high. Mine runs 135 across the board and runs ok at 286k. I'm sure it could be better but it just keeps going.
