Cell service is terrible right now... we got a real wet snow storm and lost power/cell service so I couldn’t post pics.Mine came today. I got the spike installed, and the bar and chain. But it’s raining and I’m sick, so I didn’t get a chance to try it out.
Just the regular 18v Lithium Ion batteries.
I’m in Michigan Bluff, up the hill from Foresthill, we usually lose power when someone farts, not yet this time!Cell service is terrible right now... we got a real wet snow storm and lost power/cell service so I couldn’t post pics.
Here’s the saw...

Subaru’s seem to be the worst. Just about everyone I know with a Subaru has blown their engine. My mom had a new 2015 and it was on its third engine when she traded it in on a Toyota Highlander. She’s had no problems with that car at all.No one checks their oil anymore. All brands use more oil than they should. I think its because of the long oil change intervals the epa pushes. We had an 06 3 and an 08 5. Neither used any oil but i changed the oil every 3000.
But your right. The 2.3 does seem to use oil. Have had many with jumped timing chains due to the tensioners being starved for oil. Especially the turbo one in the speed 6 and the cx7. Any of the fusion 2.3 that came in with low oil where just engine replacement. Too far too long with no oil.
I’m in Trinity County. We lost power for just about a whole day... some of the outlying areas are still out two days later. Our local power company (not PG&E thank god) is really good about getting it back online as quickly as possible.I’m in Michigan Bluff, up the hill from Foresthill, we usually lose power when someone farts, not yet this time!
What geny you running, mines a diesel so pretty cheap to run.I’m in Trinity County. We lost power for just about a whole day... some of the outlying areas are still out two days later. Our local power company (not PG&E thank god) is really good about getting it back online as quickly as possible.
It was a good excuse to finally get my generator hooked into my panel... ran it for about 6hrs before they got the power back on.

Nothing too fancy. It doesn’t even have electric start. It’s just a 6500w Generac... but I was able to run most of my house off of it. I just had to turn off the breaker to the water heater. It looks exactly like this...What geny you running, mines a diesel so pretty cheap to run.
I wish I had a big one, but we got by fine for the 6 or so hours we needed it... and it used about 3 gallons of gasoline in that time.Multiquip Whisperwatt 40K, manual start and change-over

It was right around freezing and it fired right up. First time starting it, too. It rarely gets down into the teens here. How does that generac start in the cold? I have found they dont like to start real easy when the temp gets below 25. The briggs engined units seem to fire up any temp!

I'd like to do that for my house. Did you install yourself?I’m in Trinity County. We lost power for just about a whole day... some of the outlying areas are still out two days later. Our local power company (not PG&E thank god) is really good about getting it back online as quickly as possible.

Where ever you are that looks very cozy!!
Yeah Subaru f'ed up when they went to them newer 2.0-2.5 motors. From hat I gathered the block and heads are under sized and warp quickly leading to bad head gaskets.Subaru’s seem to be the worst. Just got back from the urgent care clinic, fractured my wrist when I slipped on ice in a customer driveway. Tools flew everywhere, never found my little pipe cutters, or my flux brush. I didn't look too hard though. Managed to finish the job thanks the DPW guy that was there to turn the water back on. He ended up tightening the compression nuts to attach the meter and the final torque on a copper female adapter for me![]()
