That ain't hot. My boiler isnt crusing until the exhaust temp is 400. I just started it and AGT is 330F.

BTW, is that galvanized pipe? That would scare me. The galvanized isnt for solid fuel combustor venting, only for forced air ducting. Only the black stove pipe is for stove flue connectors (single wall).

That steam is the heat drawn off of the back side of the turbines used go make the electricity. Cooling water adds to the strength on the spin, while the heat on the inlet is less without the assist on the back side.
I grew up with engineers (granddad, dad, and 2 uncles) who had the job of designing the guts of the Cooling towers for power generation, cooling metals at a myriad of plants, petroleum products coming off the distillation of crude oil, and others long forgotten. Too bad I couldn't follow that path.
Remember way too much general ideas, without being able to work out the specifics

Drove out to Alabama to check out some new projects at two VA locations.

All you Vets in Alabama. We are slowly improving your facilities20190131_120457.jpg
View from just east of Jefferson Barracks hospital St Louis. Across Mississippi into Illinois. Better IMHO than making the physical plant better wood be some of the staff

@Semotony aint that the truth.

It’s rough going, the groups I deal with are good people; trying to maintain the buildings with what they got. These are the people you never see, they really take pride in what they do and the responsibly they have

Trump has really opened things up, allowing the VA to spend money and hire us contractors to come in and make the needed changes.

That white stuff everywhere is a problem, we don’t get that down here.

Illinois is a different animal though.
