What's your thoughts on the delo400? I run it in my 7.3, but never heard of it in a dirt hmmbike before. I usually run Motul in them.
I always run quality motorcycle oil, not everybody has every brand available, but I wouldn’t run that oil personally, it’s not formulated for high rpm, those motors turn 12.500 rpm stock!

Well chit lol so much for the cheap stuff, but yeah that's some serious rpm. The clutch would be a concern as well.

If you change it all the time it’s less of a concern, I would recommend at least budget motorcycle oil and change it every ride, $7 an oil change it’s bad

Code is double wall here in B.C.
And a WETT inspection for insurance.
CSA tag on stove and pipes.
For us in ontario it all depends how close you wanna be to the walls if i had double wall i coukd be 6 inchs i think from back wall. We also most times have to have the wett inspection. Or maybe my insurance company dont always require it. When i did dads i just had to send them pics of the install. Same as when i moved my stove into house. When it was in garage ( wish i still jad the garage) i had to have the wett inspection.

Nice bike! Make sure it has oil in, like alway check the oil! They don’t hold a lot and like to burn a bit, good bikes though, oil is your friend
Good advice.

@p61 western, They are a dry sump system so make sure you understand how to check the oil. If it's anything like my XR650R, which I believe it is, then you need to get the bike up to operating temperature, then after it idles for a minute turn it off, remove the dip stick immediately, wipe it, reinsert it without threading it back in, then read it. If you wait too long the oil drains out of the frame reservoir and down into the engine. I suggest you check the engine oil after every ride period. My 650R hold 2 quarts. The band on my dip stick seems wide, almost the entire stick but in reality it equates to about 1/4-1/3 of a quart. I change my oil once it reaches the lower level on the stick. Works out to be about 1500 miles or so.

I use Amsoil full synthetic. It's not cheap but it's worth it. I bought a case and it will last me about 2 years. Its formulated for wet clutch engines who share engine oil with transmission and clutch. Oil isnt an area worth being cheap especially when you take a look at what it costs to rebuild one of those engines.

Yep my Suzuki z400 is a dry sump as well. A lot of people have no clue how to correctly check them.

Yeah the clutch would be a concern for me as well. I just built a new motor and clutch etc on my z400. So far I have had really good luck with the Motul oil. I have it in 4 other bikes since new without a issue.

For anyone else wondering about the Delo oil for a dirt bike. I did some research, and it is not rated or any good for the wet clutch. Stick with normal motorcycle oil of choice.
