Mom's birthday is Thursday so I fixed lunch for whoever showed up. She requested pies as usual, so two coconut cream and one chocolate. Brisket, brats, grilled chicken, biscuits, potatoes and gravy made up the rest of it.

Good Job! I'm sure your Mom appreciated your effort and show of love!

I took the pics yesterday while hiking with my kids at High Cliff State Park. It is very beautiful in the fall....lots of color.

Smallest tomatoes I know of. Great for salads, and easy to grow. I had 5-9 plants per 4" peat pot before potting up without thinning. They grow so small crowding doesn't matter much.

Thanks! They have medicinal value. But, The side affects might outweigh the benefits.

I just eat the sweet red seed coating in the ripe ones, though they are mostly flavorless. The bitter of the skin is pretty bad, and these are the mild varieties.

Finally after hunting elk in north idaho for 24 years, I filled my tag for the first time. 60 yards while it was snowing with my old open sighted Husqvarna 9.3x62.

I'm not sure what to think yet. I'm thankful for the meat, but I tell you what, I bawled my heart out after it was lights out for that guy. Don't know if I have it in me to ever take such an animal again. I have no issue with deer hunting but this was way to emotional and the amount of work packing the meat out was insane. Wife and I cut and packed meat till 11 at night the first day, then my cousin came up and we packed more meat the next. It was steep and brushy with a ton of blowdown. Got him on the 11th and the three of us are still sore.
