@redline4 amd @Catman would have been cool to meet you fellas this weekend.

Definitely. Getting to Kevin's just wasn't in the cards this year. I'm hoping next year for sure.
You heading back soon or were you sticking around for Dan's or Steve's?

Instructions said to use a high quality full synthetic oil to minimize carbon deposits on the exhaust valve. Couldn't think of a better oil.PXL_20220911_230839516.jpg

This is the crankcase drain/vent. I'd say that's a good amount of lube for 10 seconds!

Not that it matters, Red Armor is not full synthetic. Does it say full synthetic on the bottle?

Huh? I guess I never really looked real close. Just assumed. I know by experience that red armor does indeed have an excellent film strength at 40:1 and does clean carbon deposits so I felt this would be a great application for it. Also I'm running 12:1 for break-in. :p

It probably doesn't matter; it doesn't matter in chainsaws. I was just letting you know. This issue came up several years ago; at one time, Echo posted no info about it on their website or their bottles/containers for a long time, it was like it was a secret. I see this has changed on their website. Scroll down to specs:

You're right. It doesn't matter. I just had an orphan bottle of red armor on hand and mixed the 6.4 oz bottle in a half gallon of gasoline for the break in. I could almost sell it to a blood bank as thick and red as the fuel is!!!

I am going to run it 20:1 with dolmar oil untill I run out of that. Then whatever I buy after that. :D

The manual for the engine says to use full synthetic for no other reason than to keep down deposits on the exhaust port. I know why they said it though. Most model fuels contain a high percentage of castor oil. It smells good but damn does it leave deposits on my 4-strokes.
