No A/C for three days, the local service people who installed the unit only communicate by text when they feel like it. Piss on that. You get no money from me. Borrowed gauges and some 410a later I'm good to go.
Did you find and fix the leak? Ac units don’t just randomly run low on refrigerant.
Ran a sniffer along all I could access from above and into the A-frame and found no leaks. I'll pop under the house this weekend and check as well, but I'm kinda baffled on why it was low when none of the joints showed a leak.Did you find and fix the leak? House was 85 inside when I made it home from work at 8:15 last night. Been over 80 last two days as well. I don't sleep much anyway it feels like and those temps with the humidity we currently have made it impossible. 7 hours sleep in three days just doesn't work. You need ac?’!? Must be hot! I still need heat here

First I’ve heard, but I haven’t done hvac work for a hot minute. Regardless with it being phased out and the subsequent price increase, he’s going to want to figure out where it went instead of having to dump more in periodically.from what I’ve been told 410a is problematic like this.
Yeah that is pretty strange. How old is the unit? I have found leaks under the insulation on the suction side that the sniffer missed with the insulation on. Also micro perforations on lines near the compressor.

Phasing out 410a? What are we going to now?
All I know is if my R22 system has any problems with the refrigerant it's new system time.
I've been in the auto industry now long enought to have serviced R12, R134a, and now R1234yf.
You've been in the industry long enough to have serviced Wilma for leaving the window down on the CanopySaurus.Phasing out 410a? What are we going to now?

Unit is 5 years old. All new install in June 2017. I'll tear into it this weekend if I have time, otherwise it will wait until vacation in a week and a half. I do know that when I walked into the house tonight the temperature was much nicer than it has been. I was working on that after 9 last night and then got up about 1 to check to make sure it was still working right. Took an hour to get back to sleep, funny how things like that can be an internal alarm clock. State park trout park has kids fishing day on Saturday and I told my boy I would take him if he wanted to go.Yeah that is pretty strange. How old is the unit?
