We get those on the big fires a lot - Smoky Horntail and Pigeon Horntail. They lay their eggs in rotting wood - mostly old stumps or downed logs and the smoke
and heat from fires brings them out and stimulates their reproductive cycle. There were many rumors of these bugs laying eggs in people's skin but I think it was
all hogwash - they're not really attracted to people, although they will land on you because they're attracted to heat.
yes 100%your right that’s exactly the little beastie just read up over here there pretty harmless and we where on the edge of a spruce and Douglas plantation
So it fits I was so convinced yesterday it was the other blighter thanks
