You can always find out. Just stand there till he comes down. I'm sure you will be convinced either way.
I'll pass on that Einstein suggestion. Yet, if I were out there I'd be loaded for critters larger than him and have plenty of firepower backup and other crack shots on deck!:rocket::rocket2::sniper:

I thought I had a Cat failure analysis manual in PDF format to send you but I don't. It is a good reference source. High powered loupe helps in grain flows and inspections. Hope you get it figured out my man. Just another area of fun that reaches into the back pocket.
Thanks for the insight and thought. I am no expert on this, for sure, I split the cases today and from looking at things. I was able to get 3 of the 4 chunks of the gear without disabling the motor. But now that I have I can rule out foreign debris, or other objects getting stuck and causing the issue. The interesting observation so far is, the small gear was getting excessive wear, kind of like a pitting or galling to the surface of the drive side, the other gear shows zero to minimal wear, I am thinking now that the heat treat was off, and they were too soft on that one gear, the grain looks good and tight, but I am no expert, was a lot of wear on the drive side of that teeth, if both teeth were bad I would think it might have been oil, even though I change oil every 5ish hours basically every ride unless it was a short test session. Every thing else looks fantastic inside. Kinda nice to see everything before other issues happen. I am actually surprised how nice it all looked, comp was still at 235 psi and the main bearings are still like new.745EBAF6-0083-450A-87AF-FFBFEBA3CE29.jpeg09CDA2F9-A5EA-4AEA-A88B-6A1CB0E59DE9.jpeg

Saw this rolling into town. Must be a rolling break room. The UP has been doing a lot of work through here lately.

My m35a2 aka 6x6 aka deuce came from the factory straight piped. My son and I have a saying. “What?! I can’t hear you over the sound of my awesome!”

I don't know why but when reading this I thought how cool would it be to have a Prius mounted in place of a straight pipe.
