That's sad

I've ran the number on those and Ive seen what a cammed 4.8 would achieve.

I probably won't put more than fuel oil and air in to this bucket. View attachment 276629

Peak power is similar, but bottom end power is not there with a 4.8, they look great on the Dyno but real world not so much, I am not that impressed with my 5.3 in my 03 Silverado it’s not like it’s a powerhouse, Plus you have a lot of parts to swap out to convert to a gym 3/4 small block, a Vortech 350 is literally a bolt in,Headers are off the shelf , super easy swap, A GEN 3/4, takes quite a bit more work to put in, and unless you do a cam swab headers and tune I don’t think it’s even worth it. GEN 3 truck motors are more revers especially in the 4.8/5.3 displacement, imho.
Have you drove a cammed 4.8? With your fire speed it would probably be a lot of fun! But you’d have to wind the piss out of it, most of the canned four point eights I’ve seen peek out at 65 to 7000 RPM and make 400hp, but only mid 350lbs of torque, the vorech 350 with flat tops makes 400-420lbs of torque, more displacement usually makes more torque, 4.8 is cool, just not tons of torque, that a truck likes.

this guy dropped by out of the blue on a road trip to have his hitch fixed today. Got to drive if afterward. Wow. Cadillac compared to mine. Power steering, smooth riding radials which also make better road speed, sound/vibration insulation. I need to get to work on one for me.

Thats bull *s-word.

The lack of torque and high revs was what I was thinking. The nv3500 is rated to barely handle the v6 lol.

Of course this all a pipe dream. I'm working on collecting the last of my stuff for the 85. It's going to my buddies this fall if everything goes to plan.

He loves it. He's going to run the chit out of it. Need to get him some ear protection lol.
Chaps, don't forget chaps.

Try it this way it melts nearly all the fat off the chicken
And just falls apart I do pork roast and ribs and beef roast the same way.
I fill the crockpot as I go to work and it's done by the time I get home 9 hour's later lol
I'm buying a smokeless grill to try
But there's no way it doesn't dry the meat out.

Got another load cut today with my boy. Used the echo and both 271's. He was pretty happy to use his new lite bar. I need to open the oil hole a bit. Dont think its getting enough oil.
