Thank you.

That brings us to $400.00

Needless to say, Jonathan is happy.

We are gonna need an update on the car when it’s all set and ready.

What a great experience building his own ride and saw with his grand dad.

Doesn’t get much better.

If you need any bowtie engine parts i have some stuff laying around.
Small block parts only.

A few steel cranks, a bucket of rods, maybe a few 4 bolt blocks, a high volume oil pump, cam gear/chain, Jacobs plug wires etc.
This is just what i can remember.

Wait there is an assembled 300+ hp street motor in the pile too.

Gawd the old bug is hard to break, Cast Iron Cocaine is what it is!

Just keep him on the track and out of the street.

Now to find the GFM and fund your and his addiction.

Now don't smack me......but.

We're planning on using an LS engine.

I've got some double hump heads.....some 283 heads with bigger valves fly cut in...a few old double pumpers. But none of that stuff holds a candle to the new stuff.

Gonna be awhile I'm sure. First he's gotta tear it all apart....

I was allowed to take my parent’s car if I would go mow my grandad’s lawn. Of course I did, and of course my grandma made supper. Cherished memories of those meals and conversations are all I have now. It was all good, but man did his mower suck. lol

edit
I guess the point is, I always had a relationship with my grand parents. It's just that when you get to be 16 or so years old, you may not want to be hangin' at their house.

The kid stuff will always be good memories, the young adult stuff makes for GREAT memories.

The new motor tech is better and dependable.

BUT

The old stuff is fun , you can run your spinny thing in them.
I enjoy the thrill/drama/worry of building my own instead of just buying it.
If it breaks i broke it and move on.
If i buy it and it breaks i cuss and swear that i could have built one better than that.
Either way i end up losing time and money.

It would be cool to have a build thread on the car here. Besides saws are boring lol.

Look for it......Jon is excited to get started.

I do know a guy that has a 454......

That would be a cool build for SURE.

If memory is still there we used a steel crank out of a beer truck motor, a 366 i think.
put that in a big block and end up with about 405 to 413 ci i think.
Anyway you have a big bore short stroke motor.
Put aluminum heads and a mag on it and have a dirt track super late model motor.

It's been many years but with time, money a dyno and an older engine builder i saw some bad motors being built.
The engine builder worked for a few teams racing the old Winston Cup.
His last job was for a short little driver named Cale.

I think that saw needs a new Stihl Lightweight bar to finish the look.

How about we up the stakes with the winner getting a choice of 20, 24 or 28” Lightweight bar.

Wow Gary......Just WOW.

Jon said Thank You.

Hold on a minute, I'm still waiting for the video of you eating lunch.

I did much the same. Sold two drag cars.....and a SBC powered Jaguar to build my house. Then traded a 66 Fairlane for a tractor. Never got back into hot rods.

Jon's enthusiasm is getting me ramped up again though.
