Hey guys, I have had a couple of PM's sent to me inquiring about the details of what my prize offer entails. Between work and home duties, I am off line from time to time and I don't want to miss someone or hold them up from making their choice. So I thought that I would try to better explain my offer here again for any interested parties. What I am offering is for someone to send up to 10 of their used/dull chains and 6 of their used/scuffed up bars to me- see loop size & bar length limitations earlier in the thread- mainly due to weight and shipping costs (which I will be covering). I will bench sharpen their chains (round profile). And also recondition their bars by; truing up the rails, soda blasting them, sanding them, then applying Gun Blue treatment to them (4-6 coats between steel whool sandings). Lastly, they will be gear oil coated to stop the oxidation and deter future rusting. I will then pay for the return shipping and include a USPS Money Order to reimburse the sender for their initial shipping costs to me (within reason of course- not overnight shipping costs for 30lbs of 28" bars or something crazy like that would cost- normal ground shipping etc.). If someone wants to do longer bars, I'm sure we can work something out shipping costs wise- I'm a reasonable guy. Here is an idea of what their bars will look like when finished. I hope this helps and adds some clairity. Now let the picking resume...
