I'd invite you all to the races we do at the Chicago county fair but damn it I can barely win a race as is. Me and Sarah are thinking of putting a GTG on this summer. Haven't set a date yet. Going to wait till after the big Iowa GTG.

last year when we went up to Alaska we went to a show. I couldn't believe how many of the guys were from Wisconsin.

I'll have to look at home. I think I still have the program with all of the guys names on it. I know there were a few from Hayward but there was some from someplace else also that I can't remember.

The GTG's were fun .We ran everything from gear drive antiques to little 2 cube trim saws .
The cold start races were different ,major league stuff,some of the best sawyers in the country .I ran in two,didn't do well but I can say I ran with the big dogs .

Good to see you here Al, here is a picture I found from back around 2010 in Pennsylvania gtg. I'll never forget the yellow saw you cut with, that while cutting, you reached around and caught a hand full of saw chips, inspected, then went to pumping the manual oiler.
Or the red 2100 that would jerk the starter rope out of your hand....
Or the "souped up 200t".....

NWPA GTG 2010. That was the racing gtg Nate took over when I stopped doing it after 2009. Does it still happen or does he just organize that real racing at the fair still?
