I'm planning on doing crank bearings and seals in my husky 181 soon. I've heard that some 181's have different sized bearings side to side. Mines an 84 model, would mine have the 2 different sizes? I've never done bearings before so it would be nice to order parts right the first time.

According to partstree 1984 181 has two 6203 bearings while the older I think 1981 has one 6203 and one 6202 bearing. I have only changed the bearings on the 181 that have the same bearings

Thanks for the help guys. I'll order SKF 6203's. I've dealt with SKF bearings before. Good stuff.

Far as I kno, first yr of production of the 181 had 2 diff bearings on crank.
Rare crank, n rare flywheelside crankcase. I picked up used crank n case side when I built my 181/288 because of thats what it was.
8 months tinkering and finding parts. Saw is stronger than my 288 lite that I picked up n put a slug n caber in.

I dont buy anything else then SKF myself, I didnt expect them to provide exactly the same bearings as Husky use but they could get them (bearings for 346/357)

Thanks again for the help guys. I've got a 181, 281 and 288 cylinder. What would you put on? I'm gonna do the 181 but curious what you all would do and why.

It can. I like the way the 81cc runs over the 88. I'll be pulling my 288 top end and putting a 281 on.
Hmmmm. Find an easysaw 288 jug. Really outruns my 288 lite mahle, very impressive , young jedi....
Sumhow,,,taiwan got the port numberz right. Runs past my tree90.

I may play around with the 288 jug some more this time before I pull it and shelf it.

El Moobs told me what to do to make it scream. I havent dun it yet. Prbly do the low hr 288 lite first. My 288 frankensaw is soooo strong as it is, I see no need to improve it.
