Ya think?Yes and it shows 120 lbs. lol! I used a 10mm plug which requires an adapter that I have tapped and installed a schrader valve. It's is false on the reading!
I struggle with compression testers.
Great work Joey!True story. I have 4 testers. I guess they are all junk. One snap-on, one Actron, one sun pro, one new one from Amazon. None read the same. I've tested against others. It just don't work for me.
I just bought an OTC. My 4th tester, and finally one that makes sense.True story. I have 4 testers. I guess they are all junk. One snap-on, one Actron, one sun pro, one new one from Amazon. None read the same. I've tested against others. It just don't work for me.
I have a Snap On that works well but eats valve cores regularly! I get valves from Napa for their compression testers. They have several testers but their deluxe kit is made by OTC im pretty sureI just bought an OTC. My 4th tester, and finally one that makes sense.
I built a 262 that's ate starter ropes and bloodied my hand. Scratched my head wondering why I couldn't break 165 compression. It read 238psi on the OTC.
What gives with that Mike? I cant figure out why? Maybe a spacer to get the valve alil farther from the cylinder? Just guessingI got me a snap on from ebay cheap. It does go through cores a lot. I had a 288 that tested out at 185 on the tester before it and 235 when it got to it's owner.
Mine is about 205 down here in La. Randy. I hope u have all that info stored in an offsite data base? In case u dont send it to Keith Gandy @ kgkx125hotmail!!!!!That's why I keep notes. I don't trust compression testers, and wonder if I am getting an accurate reading anyway. Trial and error is a better way to go. I've had a few 390XPs eat the starter pawls, so I decided I should dial back on the compression a wee bit. By my gauge, they are only blowing 190psi though.
