Hi there

I've a problem with my 560xpg. It starts easy, and works very well for something like a minute, after that, it's like it chokes itself. I've been doing a full rebuild on this one with new bearings, sealings etc. I also replaced the carb with a new one, to a brand new one. The saw have been twice to the dealer for "resets and updates". I've tried to tune it by myself in many different ways explained in forums, YT and Internet.

Check out the video.
I can go on like this forever. As soon as I killed it, I can pull the rope and it runs fantastic... for like a minute...

No disrespect meant here. How does it cut wood? The mtronic/Autotune stuff isn’t meant to be piss-revved in the garage. The software is adaptive and will try and tune for your situation, but only if it’s run wide open with a load

No offence taken. I don't always have the chance to try out in wood.

I don't remember if I tried it in wood with this carb. I did it with the first one, and the saw reacted about the same as in the video.

I'm gonna cut some firewood tomorrow, so I will try out more then.

It could be a fuel delivery problem, clogged fuel filter or clogged tank vent.

I'd get it to act up and then pop the tank cap to relieve any vacuum and see if it goes away. If it doesn't pull the fuel filter and see if it acts up without it.

These problems would show up a lot quicker with a decently long cut.

I have tried to take the cap, to check the vakuum. And removed the filter.
It would be strange if something was clogged up, because I just have to turn it of for a second to make it run well again.

Sounds like a tank vent possibly, especially if it runs good with the cap cracked.

Yes, That was one of my ideas to, and I've tried it. It's still like that. It's now confirmed that I can visit a friend tomorrow and cut some wood,so I can check the thing @huskihl mentioned.

I had the chance to try the 560 in wood today, but it didn't react like it usually does. Today it started right away choking itself. Probably I should have tried to idle it for 3 minutes, and than give it a try, but it wasn't really time for that. I will try to test again in the week which is coming.

Answered some of this in a PM. Reset cut procedure is the same for all of these saws, old or new. My 555 just happened to be a 2011 that had sat for a long time.

These carbs are still, well, carbs. They get dirty and have to be cleaned just like any of them. One good indication is how does the primer feel? If it doesn't pop back out like it should there is a fuel flow problem in there. Walt and will be getting together soon and we are going to tear a couple apart. Hopefully in about a week or so. There are a few more things to be cleaned with these. The AT module has to be removed from the carb in order for it to be properly cleaned. Care must be taken to not tear that little gasket as it is not a part that can be ordered. Really not a big deal once you do a couple.

Thanks for your answer, Bob.

If the saw is not behaving after the 3 minute idle plus tip in wood I will do in the week, I'm gonna try out your suggestions.

20211011_164016.jpg Ok. So today I've tried out the 3 mins idle and tip in wood. First of all, it was real hard to get started. After a few minutes pulling, it started and could hold the idle for 3 mins. I could hardly hold the tip in the wood, cause than the chain stopped. It didn't work. Shut it of and tried again with no luck. The third time it behaved pretty much the same, but I shut it off, pulled the rope, an started to cut several cookies with it. Shut it of again and tried again with success .
It seems to work fine now.

Thanks for the help everyone. . And thanks @huskihl for the tip, that these saw's are not built for "garage piss revving".

BTW, I know the the wood is rotten, buts that's what I have close to my house.
