What did you end up using for sealing the case halves together?
I threw the recoil on so I could grab a compression test…this thing is gonna have some torque View attachment 327152
I used this stuff…hopefully it works. I put a thin layer on both halves.View attachment 327153
I guess I will find out if this thing has too much compression….I could always raise the exhaust a little if need be.I gave my 3750 too much compression. Never has really ran right. I need to pull it apart and raise the exhaust port a few degrees.
That will work.

Is the clutch good? No. It caught fire and the plastics are junk. Missing some other parts too.
So, the muffler on this thing was not in the best of shape. I found a replacement cover for $5 so that was a no-brainer. The body on the other hand is kinda spendy, so it needed some surgery. I welded in a piece of Sheetmetal on the inside, and then will open the holes back up.View attachment 327879View attachment 327880View attachment 327881
Sweet! Thanks for the offer. Let me see if I can make this one work…if not, I would gladly take it off your hands.I have a nice muffler I can send your way.
I decided to replace the factory baffle/spacer for the front cover with two pieces of pipe. Now the muffler will be a wide open can. Also added a port with deflector on the FW side of the front cover.View attachment 328070
Thank you! I have always enjoyed fixing stuff...this whole modding chainsaws is new to me, but so far I like it. One thing I can say I don't like fixing is chainsaw carbs....dang things suck.I'm digging the repair work, nicely done.

Sounds like I need to do some learning and possibly get some more tools. Thanks for the suggestion!Look for testing articles online. Walbro, Tilly, and Zama have stuff that can be found about testing these carbs. Once you learn to test things like check valves and seats, they are really simple.
