Nice fingers Mike!
But, how much do they help in this case?
What carb are you running?
Can it feed enough to make the fingers worth it?
Could always give it more intake duration to fill enough. But at some point too much intake hurts and you lose the oomph of the hybrid.

Not knocking ya at all cuz that’s a beautiful cylinder and I’m sure it will run good. Just wondering what’s the best route here.
This particular saw is running a WJ6A with an intake block. It’s not a normal hybrid;)

Hope you get some chamfers on them there ports. Very clean grinding you have done on the ports.

Yes, absolutely. I still need to chamfer all the ports.

Thanks for the kind words.

I think I am going to grind the lower transfer divider round. Shown in red....and not have a sharp edge.

So, when I had the transfer covers off, with the jug mounted to the saw, I looked in and could see that the areas circled in red were blocking some of the area where the lower transfers are fed. I am thinking about trimming the areas circled in red to allow better flow and possibly allowing more charge to enter the cylinder on a more unobtrusive path. If that makes sense. I understand by doing this I am manipulating the cases and therefore it would be like that forever. ( unless welded back up )

Thoughts?

Unobstructed path of flow is good, I try to watch how much I remove though. I believe case volume plays a part too.

Definitely.

And I agree for sure. Case volume is very important. I wouldn't be removing much from either side. I'll mark up the cases when I get home and post a pic of what I'm thinking. Basically I would be matching the cylinder gasket to the cases.

Only one way to find out.....
Haha yep!

From what I can see when I look in through the jug with the transfer covers off, is a trapped pocket. We can open up the cylinder lower transfer port area up as much as we want, but only so much can get by the crankcase opening.

Dont get me wrong, these saws run good that way, but maybe there is still some meat left on the bone?

Biggest issue here is the risk of getting shavings down in the case.
Welp, I did it. I taped it off really good. Then vacuumed the shavings off the tape and surrounding areas. I'll take some pics. We need pics right!?

Sorry if I'm derailing the thread. I know it's not a cylinder. But figured I could at least entertain you guys haha

I also rounded over the lower transfer knife edge. Mo bedda now.
