I like the larger flats on end, mine are starting to get a little rounded off. $60 a collet is what CC wants for them and I don't think they mark up that stuff much at all.

I believe it's proprietary/specific to Nakanishi and around $60 a pop.

Unfortunately I harbor a particular abhorrence for production machining.
One and done is the only way to keep it fun...

Someone with a screw machine should be able to pop these out like candy, don't know why they need to be so expensive.
Nothing about them that needs to be particularly precision, there are lots of similar collets that are 8 bucks...

Can chase with a triangle file to some degree but even the really tiny Swiss jobbies still don’t have a sharp enough corner for this small of pitch.

Feather file. Hard to find but invaluable for cleaning up fine threads.

I think a better quality wrench might help. The little stamped jobby isn't all that great.

I thought they were 70 bucks regardless its enough that its hard to swallow.

I also media blasted the exterior. Ran out of media before I got finished.
