I've got a little cleanup before I move forward. It is my first set of bridge ports. Cut .040 off the base and .045 from the band. A little epoxy on the floor of the intake and I ended up with
98/121/77. Squish is .021. This saw will be running a 36" bar primarily. Thanks @Mastermind and @Deets066 for posting the info, pics and discussion. IMG_2988.JPG

Let us know how she runs. My Blue Beast (066 cyl, Meteor Piston on an Asian base) is Sq .020, Ex 97, Tr 123, and In 83. She has VG torque, I like her! I did not do bridge ports … but almost did!

Very nicely done Rich. I like the exhaust roof as well.

For me, there is a huge difference in between opening up/reshaping a port and grinding a new passage in the cylinder. Lol I had to take a break and collect myself after the first bridge port. I did find it easier to use a diamond bit to "breach" the plating then switch back over to a carbide ball to finish. On a side note I've never put a degree wheel on my redlight. So I bolted up the redlight jug to the 660 I'm working on. I was expecting to see a bigger difference in the numbers. Digging through old posts here and over "there" someone mentioned there was a slight difference in the piston? That's news to me, I sure hope not. I just donated that original piston to a build a couple of weeks ago. Redlight jug was 95/121/81. original Stihl jug to the 660 was 93/122/82. This saw does have a Meteor piston on it but I dont think that makes a difference. Besides being a little heavier, the meteor always seem to be spot on.

I’ve seen .017” difference from Mahle pistons to the new KS.

The 660 carb has a 64 jet. Will drilling it out to a 70 be enough? It should at least be a good place to start. Whatcha think?
I’d run it first to get a feel for it before I drilled anything.
Check the Venturi to make sure it doesn’t have any casting flash.
