I don't know no better yet, I haven't run it.

The 9010 has a long smooth intake boot, so maybe the dimples will help re vaporize any drops of fuel with turbulence.
A smart feller might line the boot with a very coarse nylon or stainless wire screen.

In a V8 engine it will let the air/fuel slip through faster as tested on a flow bench. It's like the effect on a golf ball, it goes farther with dimples than without.
In my testing I could find no advantage as the intake on a saw is so short and straight that any difference couldn't be noted.

I do the same thing. I have a couple of small aluminum pucks that are drilled for the live center. On the slanted cylinders of a 550/562 and such I’ll grind a small spot in the top that is flat so I can run the live center directly into it.

I also put 80 grit sand paper on the end of my mandrels so they hold better. I can take .015-.020” roughing cuts this way.

Yes to the above.
I made one from an old Mikuni carburetor slide. So guys should be able to find something lying about to make what's needed.
