Keith I believe gasket delete made the squish too tight. I just used sand paper on an old piston to get it back.

If that is all the bar you are going to run you may want some higher durations. Is this a limber, firewood saw or play saw?
I would likely be a little higher on the exhaust because I find it useful with a limber to have a little higher rev. if it was someones only saw for fire wood I may work to make it a little torquier. (im sure that a real word).
Everyone is different so what I am saying is tune this saw for what you will be doing.

@Keith Gandy personally I prefer to stick with the 346 boot, I don't think the SLIGHTLY bigger boot from the 357/359 is worth the aggregation, doesn't fit the cylinder well IMHO. Now, the carb, filter holder, and air filter, that is worth it.

Does the 346 top cover work after the 357/9 intake elbow/ airfilter is installed? Is the primer bulb null after 199 install?

The 199s found on 357/359 do not have primer bulbs so I would say that the primer bulb on your 346 will not be usable after installing the 199 carb as it does not have the provisions to hook to a primer.

So Id think a different cover without the primer bulb would fit?

I cannot say for sure, but I don't see why a non-primer cover wouldn't fit.

I have an el42 on my 350/346.

The 346 intake boot is larger ID where it meets the cylinder than the 357. But the 357 one is larger on the carb side. Weird! So I just use the 346 boot with 199 carbs..
