I really don't want to play Russian roulette and loose any more money. What are you using to light up your work? I like headlamps but I have not found one that lasts. Be it the light bulb, the battery or it's charged run time. The flexible desk light I have works. but In some cases a pain to have to adjust constantly and sometimes too bright. Can anyone give me recommendations on good headlamps or something similar? The max I would be willing to spend on a good reliable rechargeable headlamp (waterproof would be a great addition aswell) would be 200$ but at that price it better last more than 3 months.

This is what I’ve found to use. I’ve had it about 6 years and use it lots when porting. Fit the light to the bill of my cap and run it to the back and clips in back with another clip, I run cable to be out of the way and ( mine doesn’t have a belt clip) so I use an old cellphone case to put on my belt. I can adjust to where I need light. Light strength is adjustable, nice white light and it lasts a long long time on one charge. Can’t tell you if it’s water proof but from the way it’s built the light is and if battery is worn in an area to keep it dry I don’t see why it wouldn’t be waterproof. Connections are good from battery to light, sealed cord with jack at battery. $28-$35

This is what I use and like!

I was hoping someone was going to mention a hat fitted light. I was gifted a cheap one from a friend.i loved it and I used the hell out of it but it didn't last long at all.

I use a headlamp with a spot light... it eats batteries but it's never in the way like a desk lamp is.
Ya I prefer the head lamps myself. Where ever I look the light follows plus nothing getting in the way. Currently using a coast triple AAA battery operated. I bought it from Lowe's but it's already starting to go out. There are so many of them though it's hard to tell if your getting a good product or not. Especially if you order it from scamazon.

I use a headlamp as well, but also a finger light on the end of my Foredom grinder to get a good spot on the action when in a blind spot. Sometime I put it on my index finger if the tool/light wont make a clearance inside the jug. Ive also put it right into the jug on a bit of double sided tape when I need good lighting on a particular spot, but the tape usually doesn't hold long with the vibes n shavings all over.

You can get a 50 off amazon for $10 witch is silly cheap. They often get bad reviews because the batteries are usually crap or the led wire isnt making contact, but for that price w/e

I wear the older version of the Snap-on neck light above my ears. That puts it very nearly at my eye level.
