Porting a AM 064 cylinder

The owner of this saw can't start it anymore and when he seen the am cylinder from the comparison thread had a decomp he contacted me so I'm gonna try to fix him up.

The cylinder runs fantastic stock so hopefully it ports well.
The intake is a problem but it can be fixed. Stock timing is 97 124 80

I'm still leary of getting compression to high even with the decomp plus timing is where I want it finished not stock so I'm not going to lower it much. 020 from the chamber tops.

You could keep the squish a little looser than normal too.

It will need to be strong but startable.

He wants it to start easier than oem but have more power as well

The am cylinder made more power stock than the oem cylinders and I believe it will port well.

I cut 030 from the base and 020 from the chamber but on a angle to help compression. I'm hoping for less than 190 so it will be fine with the decomp.

Exhaust should be around 99 but haven't checked it yet.
99 123-4 80 sounds good to me

If starting is a worry try using a husky decomp instead of the stihl one. They have a bit bigger of a bleed port

My M/M ported 660 starts easy when warm but cold it wants to bust ya fingers. Compression is not as high as many have its 205psi. It seems some of these am jugs are pretty decent if you get a nice one. J can prolly tell its no's eyeballing it.lol
