Plating

There were many, many saws (and trimmers, and blowers, and etc.) made with plain cylinders and chrome plated pistons. It was/is a lot cheaper to just plate the piston and leave the cylinder alone so certain Craftsman models by Poulan, certain Mini-Mac models (they went back and forth so you have be careful you don't put a plated piston in a plated bore...) and others I am sure.
